Lectures/Workshops 2006/07

All our workshops and talks are adaptable to your needs. We are always willing to discuss requests for new workshops on specific subjects.

Talks/Lectures

  1. PROGRESSIVE WITCHCRAFT (1.5 hrs)
    General talk by Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone on how they see Wicca developing in the next century; how there are noticeable patterns of development. This includes much reminiscing on how they both got involved in the Craft. Includes a Q&A session at the end. A very flexible talk, suitable as an introduction to Janet and Gavin, therefore recommended as the first talk in any series and for book signings.
  2. PAGANISM IN IRELAND; Ancient and Modern (1.5 hrs) Slideshow
    Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone. Slideshow presentation of the ancient sites and continuance of pagan practise in Ireland today. They show why it is important to look at the past methods of pagan practise to understand the direction of modern paganism, as well as dispelling myths regarding the nature of Irish Pagan practise, ancient and modern (Kodak Carousel Slide Projector and Screen required).
  3. WICCA AS A HEALING TRADITION; Returning to Wicca's Roots (1 hr +)
    Very suitable for one-off venues such as book signings etc. Time for talk can be vaired according to situation. Gavin Bone shows how the origins of Wicca are in the healing traditions of the ancients; how Wicca was a 'Priesthood of Healers' which developed from ancient European Shamanistic traditions. Also, why it is important to return to these origins and how it can bring cohesion to the Wiccan community.
  4. TALKING WITH SPIRIT; The Importance of Linking with your Personal Deity (1 hr +)
    Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone. Why connecting with a personal God/Goddess is an important part of Wiccan Practise, and how it defines the individual as a 'Priest/Priestess'.

Active Workshops


These are recommended for smaller groups (12-40). Most have ritual content which requires an appropriate working area. Many of these workshops are:
  1. CHAKRA RITUAL: Chakras as a model in Wiccan Circle (2 hrs)
    Practical workshop by Gavin Bone, introducing the Chakras as a magickal system and how to use them as a ritual model.
  2. SPIRITUAL HEALING FOR WICCANS: An Introduction (2 hrs). Recommended you have attended "CHAKRA RITUAL: Chakras as a model in Wiccan Circle".
    Gavin Bone. Practical workshop showing the use of Chakric and Auric energy in Spiritual healing, and how to enhance healing skills using ritual practice.
  3. DRAWING DOWN THE MOON: An Introduction to Trance work in Wiccan Ritual (1.5 hrs).
    Janet Farrar discusses the origins and significance of this uniquely Wiccan practice, and how trance work can be used in circle, with demonstrations of techniques.
  4. THE CREATION AND USE OF THOUGHT FORMS (1 hr +)
    Janet Farrar (with Gavin Bone). Practical workshop and talk which includes the creation of familiars. Participants/organisers are requires to supply a capped bottle, candles, incense, string, etc.
  5. THE GROUP MIND; Its Creation within a Coven Structure (1 hr +)
    Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone. The psychology behind the Group Mind in working magical groups. How it can be created and maintained, plus the problems that can be created by its misuse and how these can be solved. The real meaning and importance of 'Perfect Love and Perfect Trust'.
  6. JOURNEY TO THE MOON TEMPLE (1 - 1.5 hrs)
    Janet and Gavin take a group on a journey (visualisation) to Dion Fortune's Moon Temple (The Sea Priestess). There they meet the gods of the temple and have encounters with entities from the other cosmological realms.
    Warning: Janet uses a hypnotic verbal induction technique. It is not unusual for participants to have initatory experiences during this workshop.
  7. WICCAN COSMOLOGY: Connecting with Spirit Guides (1 - 1.5 hrs)
    An introductory workshop on Spiritual Cosmology using the European Tree of Life (Celtic/Saxon/Norse). Gavin guides the group throguh the seven accessible realms (Elemental, Astral, Underworld, etc.) and shows where to find each guide and guardian using a visualisation technique. He explains the differences between different guides e.g. between totem animals and power animals, and how to find your Astral, Spirit and Underworld Guide (Psychopompous).

Full Day/Weekend Workshops

  1. INNER MYSTERIES WEEKEND WORKSHOP (Normally Friday evening through to late Sunday afternoon)
    An intensive experiential workshop based on the used of magical energy within ritual. This workshop includes working with chakras and aura in magic and ritual, the nature of divinity and connecting with the Gods and Goddesses of Witchcraft. Drawing Down The Moon, and how it works. Spiritual Cosmology and travelling the Shamanistic Tree of Life.
  2. TRANCE PROPHESY INTENSIVE WORKSHOP (Normally One Day from early morning through to early evening)
    A practical participatory intensive to teach individuals how to perform trance prophesy using safe techniques. Includes the History of trance in ancient Paganism and Wicca, its purpose, types and methods of inducing trance states, working with deity in trance, the Underworld Descent Technique, and Creating a Trance Prophesy Ritual.
